On FEAR.......

I have done several blogs on fear, which is (false evidence appearing real).  I honestly feel that I should do another blog on Fear, but do it from a different angle.  No matter what, we always seem to run into "fear."  The reason we experience fear is because of two options: 1) we were afraid of something happening, and it actually happens or 2) it is something that happens unexpected, it is a "surprise' if you want to call it that.  So now I am going to go into the bible.  Jesus repeatedly tells us to "fear not."  Here are a few bible verses that back it up:

Psalm 23:4

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
The LORD is my light and my salvation-- whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold of my life-- of whom shall I be afraid?
The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.
You who fear him, trust in the LORD-- he is their help and shield.
But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children--
Praise the LORD. Blessed is the man who fears the LORD, who finds great delight in his commands.
Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you
1 Chronicles 28:20
David also said to Solomon his son, "Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the LORD God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you until all the work for the service of the temple of the LORD is finished.

Here are just a few verses that speak on "fear" in the bible.  This really applies to my life because my main goal is to get to the point where I can FULLY trust God in any and everything.  I can trust him in every single circumstance whether good or bad, whether planned or not planned.  So I ask myself: How can i get to this?  I thought of a few things: My husband and I teach a class at church and we did a study on who are the greatest in the kingdom of Heaven and what I gathered from doing research on that scripture is to be simple of mind and pure as a little child.  As adults we tend to complicate things, and want proof or further explanations or even reasoning.  It is almost as if we need someone to actually explain with charts and diagrams on why we should believe something or actually apply it to our lives.  When small children ask a question on why something is, they usually go to their parent or someone they trust, and they actually believe what that person says to them.  Children are so simple and pure in mind that they don't need lengthy explanations, you say it, they believe it!! Simple as that!!!  So now let me relate this to us adults:  God is Our Father, he is perfect in all his ways, he is our creator of the universe, he speaks truth and never lies, he is the author and finisher of our faith, he knows the beginning and the ending..... shall i go on??  So he is our "go to person for everything!!"  Whenever we need a life lesson, we should run to our bibles and then run into our prayer closet and get with our dad!!  Go ahead, sit on your dads lap and talk with him and see what he says.  You  know what he says will be the only truth you will ever hear in this world.  Ok, so we ask God something, his word speaks to us and answers it through scripture and that should be it.  That should be enough for us!!! Here we go to our heavenly father and see what he says, and when we get confirmation that should be it, end of story!!!  If you are worrying, having fear, anxiety, etc.  If you have any of those or even all of the above, then see what Gods word says.  When you read the bible, actually read it as if God is actually addressing you personally and catering it to your specific situation.  That is how personal Gods Word is.  I have been having fear of the unknown so the fear i keep running into is option 2 (which is above) fear of the unknown /unexpected.  I want answers, I want comfort, I want explanations, etc.  Here I am making it more complicated and becoming confused and in a tug of war of thoughts.  I need to STOP, get with God see what he says and jump off his lap and say ok, thank you daddy and go off to play.  I need to come to God and tell him that I am having fear and anxiety and worried about the future of what may or may not happen and here I can read that God is telling me "Katy, my daughter please do not fear, my son Jesus did not go through the Crucifixion so that you can sit here and have fear and anxiety about the future.  Do you know the future? Because I do know the future, I know the beginning and the end.  Katy, do you know that my son came to give you a more abundant life, and that nobody can snatch you out of my right hand?  Do you know that everything you have is because of me, and favor that I  have poured out fresh for you each morning?  Katy did you know that greater is he that is in you, then he that is in the world?"    This is what I hear and I need to believe it and once I leave my prayer closet, leave it with God and don't pick it up again.  The enemy wants you to literally torture yourself in your mind, and wants to wear you out and discourage you.  Stop beating yourself up!!! Put God first and that way you will be aligned with him and his word and you will have blessing.  I am not just writing this blog to you, I am writing for myself as well.  We all need a constant reminder when we are experiencing trials and tribulations.  We need to remind ourselves we are more than conquerors in Christ and through Christ.
So please, whatever you are going through, get on your fathers lap, talk with him (child to father) and let him give you the rest that Jesus wants to give you.  Listen to what he says, take it for what he says and be on your way trusting him with everything!!!!  I really hope this blog speaks to you today and in your life, and you don't just nod your head and think "that was a good blog."  I want you to actually believe it, take authority, and live it out!!!! We are in this battle of life together and the way to get through it, is to rely on Gods Word and other members of the body of Christ!!!
